Tata Starbus: Driving Sustainable Transport with 400 EV Buses Delivered
Through its subsidiary TML CV Mobility Solutions Ltd, Tata Motors has delivered 400 Starbus EV buses to the Delhi Transport Corporation as part of a larger order to provide and manage 1,500 electric buses for 12 years. The buses are made locally and based on advanced technology, contributing to the Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives. This delivery takes Tata Motors' total supply of electric buses in the country to over 1,000.
Through TML CV Mobility Solutions Ltd, its subsidiary, Tata Motors delivered 400 Starbus EV buses to the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC), meeting a portion of a larger order to provide, manage, and run 1,500 electric buses for 12 years. The electric vehicles, assembled locally and deploying leading-edge technology, align with the Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat schemes and boast zero emissions.
The state-of-the-art buses are designed for a safe and comfortable inner-city travel experience across Delhi. This delivery enables Tata Motors to achieve a significant milestone of supplying more than 1,000 electric buses countrywide.

This fleet of 400 electric buses was flagged off collectively on September 5, 2023, by Shri. Vinai Kumar Saxena, Delhi's Lieutenant Governor, and Shri Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi's Chief Minister. On this auspicious occasion, other officials were also present, including Shri Kailash Gahlot, the Delhi government's Minister of Law, Revenue, Transport, Women & Child Development, IT, and Administrative Reform.
On the arrival of the EV fleet, DTC's Managing Director, Ms. Shilpa Shinde stated that DTC is devoted to offering efficient and reliable transport services for Delhi's residents. The introduction of these next-generation buses will contribute to improving the city’s environmental conditions while offering commuters greater accessibility, comfort, and convenience.

Mr. Asim Kumar Mukhopadhyay expressed great pleasure at TML CV Mobility Solutions Limited's collaboration with DTC on the launch of the electric buses. He looked forward to reinforcing the partnership with DTC by supplying another 1100 electric buses in a phased manner.The Tata Starbus EV offers an avant-garde solution for city commuting.
