Buckle Up For A Safe Drive

By Ajinkya

We often hear our authorities stressing on safety issues like wearing a seat belt. It has made some impact across the country - most motorists now seem to be buckled up, at least in the front. However, bad injuries and even death can occur if the seatbelt is not worn at the rear as well, since protection at the rear is limited in many cars.

We bring you a video that shows why you should buckle up. In the video it is seen that when you crash it isn't the external injuries that can kill you, but internal injuries instead.

The video clearly relays the power of inertia and how rib bones break, leading to punctured lungs or arteries. If you hit your head on the steering wheel or even the windshield, the chances of dying are not as high as if you puncture your lung or heart. However the fact remains that the front occupants are the most protected, so it is important to buckle up in the back as well.

Wearing a seatbelt can significantly decrease the chance of internal injuries as well as your body uncontrollably moving ahead with inertia. So next time you sit in your car remember to use your seatbelt. It is vital for survival.
