Chennai To Launch Spott Parking App Soon
Finding a place to park is becoming a tedious task day to day in big cities across India. To deal with such crisis, Chennai has come up with a clever idea, to launch an app called 'Spott Parking'. The app has been designed by a software company and cinematographer Suresh Menon has forwarded a request to the corporation.
The Spott Parking app will gather an inventory of all the parking spaces available in the city for four-wheelers. The team is negotiating with mall owners, corporation parking lots, private parking places, and hotels and is sure of launching the app very soon, with at least 1,000 parking slots in the city.
With the Spott Parking app, when a driver wants to park his car, all the available parking slots will be listed and the car owner can even pay through the app itself. Suresh Menon claims in his proposal that the corporation can generate revenue around Rs. 450 crore if the parking in Chennai is streamlined.
Also, Menon claims that "Once the slots are identified, the corporation can employ one person for every 25 slots to man it, Not only does this provide employment opportunities but also make streets safer with parking attendants acting like eyes on the street."
