Speeding SUV Jumps Divider, Kills 1, Leaves Five Injured
Accidents are growing in numbers and overspeeding is a primary cause. Latest news is of an overspeeding XUV500, that jumped the divider and killed one and left five others injured.
The accident took place on the Eastern Express Highway (EEH). Lalit Jain, a businessman from Mulund was behind the XUV500's wheel when the accident took place.
Lalit was allegedly driving fast, when the XUV lost control and jumped a divider, before landing on its roof. The XUV500 had six occupants in total, and five of them were injured while Lalit passed away in the hospital. The accident took place around 2:15 a.m.
The injured were taken to Sion hospital. Police officials have booked a case under accidental death and is still unclear whether Lalit was driving under the influence of alcohol.
