Simon Pagenaud Gives First Person View Of Rallying In His Peugeot 207

Motor racing is a dangerous sport, but perhaps the most dangerous of all is rallying. In rally racing you get no foam packed barriers and crash tyres. Instead, the car could be stopped by unforgiving tree or a boulder.

Then there is the road, which is not smooth tarmac like in F1 or sportscar racing. Underneath the tyres is earth. Slippery and rough. Most times the tracks are just narrow enough for the one car to slip through with only trees on both sides acting as natural barriers.

Now imagine driving through such a dangerous course at break neck speeds. Would you be willing to do it? Rally drivers are therefore in my opinion, certainly one of the bravest people on earth and some of the quickest, with lightning fast reflexes. The plus side to it is the adrenaline rush that the drivers experience.

Unfortunately, most of us are neither talented or brave enough to experience rallying. The next best thing to do is get a first person's view of the same.

In the following video we have Simon Pagenaud, best know as an IndyCar racing driver, behind the wheels of a Peugeot 207 taking it on a test run. Unlike most rally video though we get a first person view of the whole action from a visor mounted camera.

You not only enjoy the thrilling experience, but also get to appreciate the rally drivers' talent. Watch the video below.
