Honda Civic Scratch Art By Shawn Lisjack
From from the Nano ‘Art in Motion' car from Delhi we come to a Honda Civic, which has the distinction of being the world's first fully hand engraved car. This Honda Civic is the creation of Shawn Lisjack, a self taught artist who has taken the simple scratch art technique to a whole new level.
Shawn Lisjack's started engraving in 2007 in general, but the realization that the technique could be applied onto a car's body paint was the start of his Honda Civic project. Go through the gallery below to see the the engraved car in detail.

Shawn's engraved 1992 Honda Civic VX hatchback before it received its body art.

The car has a carbon fiber body work, covered in white primer, which is again covered in a layer of black paint. The designs are engraved by scratching out the black paint layer.

Shawn's choice of tools include a Dremel 3000 rotary tool and the Diamond Wheel Point accessory.

Up until now more than 5000 hours of labour has gone into etching out the designs and Shawn estimates another 1000 hours of work is pending.

This Seibon dragon design hood alone took 600 hours to create.

This unique rear spoiler took more than 160 hours to engrave.

The design theme is a mixture of Japanese traditional and mystical symbols, corporate logos and freestyle design.
