Ryan Reynolds' Triumph Thruxton - Another Red Facade

Dustin Kott, a cafe racer builder from Kott Motorcycles, was called upon to custom-make Ryan Reynolds 2014 fuel-injected Triumph Thruxton. The Deadpool star, wanting to add to his already crazy collection, has a passion for motorcycles, with his heart falling on classic-styled bikes. He has models from the brands Deus and Raccia Motorcycles.

The Thruxton custom-build tested the strengths of Kott Motorcycle as it wasn't one of their regular clients, but that didn't phase them. The main goal was to change the design, in terms of looks and dimensions, to accommodate Reynold's requests. Dustin Kott also wanted to showcase the design potential of the Triumph Thruxton.

To start things off, Dustin Kott rode the Triumph Thruxton to get himself acquainted with its stock performance. Instead of just fixing any issue, he wanted to increase the rideability of the bike and get rid of probable shortcomings.

An area he found the biggest problems with was the design of the bike, from the handle to the tail, especially the drop from the tank to the seat. To tackle this, he customized the frame's design, adding a smoother flow to the body and elegant steel panels.

After doing this and freeing up some space on the bike, a new problem emerged. The Thruston's in-tank fuel pump. To overcome this, Kott Motorcycle wanted to fit a tank from the Japanese make, Yamaha XS1100 - even though there was a massive controversy on fitting a Japanese tank to a British motorcycle.

Dustin from Kott Motorcycles used an XS tank to fit Thruxton's fuel pump and house the ignition switch. He also created a round-bar constructed tail unit to conceal electrical components and added an LED taillight.

To improve handling, he chose high-performance Hagon shocks and Avon tires, both British-made. Dustin reimagined the rear set plates and chose clip-ons for the front, which were enhanced by the original controls.

The factory exhaust system was swapped up for a stainless steel Arrow two-in-one configuration, and Dustin remapped the EFI to give the engine an aggressive sound at high revs. To further improve the bike's performance, velocity stacks were installed in place of the airbox.

Dustin's skill was evident throughout the project in the close attention to detail paid to parts like the inner rear fender, the specially manufactured exhaust, and the engine mounts. While enhancing Thruxton's overall posture and rideability, Kott worked to keep the original model's look in mind when it came to finishing.

Aluminium finishes were applied to many new parts, which elegantly complemented the brandy-wine paint and pewter gold pinstriping across the tank and tail. Reddish-brown leather covering the seat cushioning gave the design a sense of class.

Another stand-out feature of the bike is the absence of a speedometer. In place of the speedometer, on the headlight bucket, the words "Live Fast" are painted. This feature is a tribute to the traditional cafe racers, which further shows us the eye for detail Dustin Kott has.

The custom-made Triumph Thruxton is an absolute eye-catcher. It has a retro-classic cafe-racer design, adding to the already bold look. With almost the whole bike being redone, it is a super unique piece that anyone would love to get their hands on!

The bike is covered in a shade of red, just like how Reynolds likes it. And, as Kott Motorcycle re-birthed this classic bike, we see a slight resemblance to Deadpool - the regenerating body parts!
