This Iconic Motorcycle Engine Powered The Baahubali Chariot
Baahubali's Bhalla Deva's chariot was powered by none other than a Royal Enfield engine so that it would get the speed and power the chariot required.
Baahubali has created a lot of records and the credit goes to its big canvas, characters as well as the props used to create the brilliance of an ancient kingdom.

The credit for the props goes to production designer Sabu Cyril's work. In a recent interview with Manorama Online he revealed some of the secrets behind Baahubali 2. This included the much talked about chariot used by the character Bhalla in the movie. The production designer used a Royal Enfield engine to power the chariot.

The reason for using a Royal Enfield engine was credited with the power and speed required to power the chariot.

"Bhalla Deva's chariot was built around a Royal Enfield engine so that it would get the power and speed it required. We had done the same in the first part as well. The chariot also had proper car steering and a driver. We had great fun designing and making it," the 55-year-old said in an interview to Manorama Online.

However, he did not reveal whether a 350cc or a 500cc mill was employed to power the chariot. None the less, a Royal Enfield engine for a royal movie is indeed a pride for the iconic brand.

Currently, Royal Enfield has four different powerplants which are employed to power their motorcycles. These engines include a 346cc mill which produces 19.8bhp and 28Nm of torque and the 499cc unit churning out 27.2bhp and 41.3Nm of torque which powers most of their motorcycles.

Also, the lightest, fastest and most powerful Royal Enfield in production, the Continental GT is powered by a 535cc unit which develops 29.1bhp and 44Nm of torque.

The last being a 411cc unit which powers the Himalayan adventure bike producing 24.5bhp and 32Nm of torque.
