Royal Enfield Continental GT Turns Flat Tracker
Sean Skinner of Motorelic created a flat tracker off the Royal Enfield Continental GT with the moniker 'Royal Tracker'.
The Royal Enfield Continental GT is immediately associated with a 'Cafe Racer', but can the motorcycle be a potential flat tracker?
Well, Sean Skinner of Motorelic set upon giving the RE Continental GT a makeover. The custom shop christened the flat tracker as 'Royal Tracker' - the charm of 'Royal Enfield' seems to stem the best names for custom built RE motorcycles.

The Royal Tracker was given a white paint scheme and high-pipes. Sean stripped off the tank and seat to get an idea of the Harris Performance built frame that he would be working on. The result was that the Royal Tracker needed a new tank and seat as well as new front and rear suspension would need to be fitted.

The front forks were shaved, and a K-Tech Suspension springs now adorn the flat tracker Continental GT lowering the front of the motorcycle by 2-inches. The rear suspension too received K-Tech Bullit shocks. With the changes to the suspension, the bike leant forward slightly and gave it a classic tracker profile.

Sean chose a Yamaha XT225 tank for the Royal Tracker and was modified to fit the motorcycle. The seat was designed to be in sync with the tank layout.
Since white paint scheme was chosen, the tank and seat section was added with a British racing green stripe along with a matching parallel black stripe.

The headlight was created by Sean utilising a Hella LED front and centre, and a new exhaust pipe was fabricated that sweeps to the left and spirals through the mid-frame to exit on the righthand side.

The original EFI system on the Continental GT was replaced with a more traditional British Amal carburettor topped with a Uni pod filter.

The Royal Tracker wears Pirelli MT90 tyres to give the motorcycle a dirt-tracker look; Sean says that "still ride and handle well on the street. The wheels and brakes are stock, and both perform well and look the part."

Once the build was completed on the Continental GT flat tracker, he cranked the 535cc engine over, and it "barked like a good little tracker should,"

DriveSpark Thinks!
A great build by Sean Skinner of Motorelic and the Continental GT flat tracker aka Royal Tracker has the charm of a classic motorcycle all the while offering a performance of a present day flat tracker.
