One-Off Rolls-Royce Spectre Bailey Is An Electric Celebration Of A Very Good Boy
Few carmakers can translate affection into engineering the way Rolls-Royce does. The British marque's bespoke division has crafted cars inspired by everything from celestial constellations to couture fabrics, yet its latest commission tells a story that feels far more personal - and unexpectedly heartwarming.
The Rolls-Royce Spectre Bailey is a bespoke electric coupe commissioned by American clients to celebrate their Labrador-Golden Retriever mix, Bailey. The project was conceived through the brand's Bespoke Collective, turning the bond between owners and the pet into a piece of automotive art.

Bailey, the golden-coated companion of the commissioners of this bespoke electric Rolls, is known for his calm nature and inspired a design language rooted in warmth and texture. The exterior combines a shimmering tone called Crystal with a specially developed shade named Beautiful Bailey, created to replicate the soft gold of the dog's fur under sunlight.
Running across the car's side is a delicate rose-gold coachline, hand-painted by artisans at Goodwood. It finishes in a small paw print motif above the rear fender - a subtle signature visible only to those who know the story behind it.

At the front, the Spirit of Ecstasy ornament is finished in rose gold, continuing the theme with understated elegance. The treadplates carry engraved paw impressions, linking each part of the car through gentle repetition and material detail that feels both playful and precise.
Inside, the atmosphere is serene and tactile. Moccasin and Crème Light leathers wrap the seats and dash, accented by Casden Tan and Dark Spice inserts that trace Bailey's natural colouring. The interior layers tones like fur - soft, gradual, and carefully balanced against polished wood veneers.

At the centre of the cabin sits a handcrafted marquetry portrait of Bailey, assembled from over 180 pieces of veneer cut from nine distinct wood species. Craftsmen selected each shade for its natural grain, allowing Bailey's expression to emerge from texture rather than paint or stain. That portrait rests within the rear waterfall panel, its edges illuminated by diffused ambient light.
Smaller paw prints appear on the passenger dashboard and inner door panels, visible only when seated inside, where they catch the light just long enough to reveal their presence.

The commission was coordinated through the Rolls-Royce Private Office in New York, which guided the owners through every design stage. Each detail - from the wood grain direction to the stitching tone - was chosen to convey Bailey's personality as faithfully as possible.
Underneath the craftsmanship lies the architecture of the standard Spectre, powered by twin electric motors delivering 577bhp and 900Nm of torque. The coupe glides in near-silence over long distances, supported by a ride system tuned to maintain the stillness expected of a Rolls-Royce grand tourer.

The Spectre Bailey embodies the softer side of bespoke motoring, where design becomes an expression of affection rather than indulgence. Its details invite observation, rewarding patience in the same way its namesake does - calm, loyal, and impossible not to admire.
