Rocket Skates From The Future Now A Reality
If there is anybody out there who watched Star Trek or Back To The Future, and wondered if you could have one of those ultra-cool gadgets? Well, we are not quite there yet, but a company named Action has shown positive signs by introducing what they call Rocket Skates.
Rocket Skates, is powered by an electric motor which is backed up by a lithium ion battery pack. Both are controlled by a microprocessor onboard. They maintain equal speed by communicating with each other. The strap-on model makes it easy to wear with any shoes you want. They are lightweight as well.

Once on, just chose which foot leads and off you go. To accelerate, just lean forward and lean back on your heel to brake or slow down. Peter Treadway, the company's co-founder says it will take a couple of runs for a person to get a hang of it.

R6
R-6 lasts for 45 minutes on full charge or 9.5 km. This model comes in "Rocket Red" and will cost you $499. The wheels are made of rubber and and can carry a max weight of 124 kgs.
R8
The R8 model lasts 25 minutes longer than the R6 and can run for 12.8 km. It comes in a "Titanium Chrome" shade. This takes about an hour and a half to charge up once flat.
R10
R-10 is the most sophisticated version. It will last for 90 minutes and comes in "Deep Space Black." It weighs about 3 kg and does a top speed of 12 mph.
This California-based company, not only manufactures the R Skates, but also the M Scooter. This is a three wheeled scooter which is very easy to navigate and maneuver around. Designed and engineered by a team of innovators from California, it is fully collapsible. Powered by a brushless electric motor, it emits zero emissions.
