India's Road Safety Challenged By Increasing Traffic Violations, Including High-Profile Cases
The number of road accidents in India due to traffic violations is on the rise, posing a significant challenge for the country. These accidents often result in fatalities, prompting the enforcement of strict traffic rules. Measures such as mandatory helmet use for two-wheelers and seat belts for car passengers are now in place. Traffic police have also intensified their efforts to curb violations.
Despite these measures, many drivers continue to flout the rules. Authorities are taking immediate action against offenders, including imposing heavy fines and confiscating vehicles based on the severity of the violation. Recently, Akash Ambani, son of Mukesh Ambani, was involved in a traffic violation that has garnered widespread attention.
Akash Ambani was seen travelling in a car without wearing a seat belt. A video of this incident has surfaced online, sparking controversy. The Ambani family is known for their collection of luxury cars, with vehicles worth over Rs 100 crore housed in their Rs 15,000 crore residence, Antilia.
One of the most expensive models in their collection is the Ferrari Portofino. This car, recently acquired by the Ambani family, is notable for being Ferrari's first SUV model. Each unit of this car is priced at over Rs 10.5 crore, making it a rare sight on Indian roads.

Akash Ambani was caught driving this rare car without a seat belt. The video has gone viral on social media, leading many to question whether he will face any consequences for this violation. In India, driving without a seat belt can result in a fine exceeding Rs 1,000.
The Ferrari Portofino SUV is equipped with a 6.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. It delivers up to 725 bhp and 716 Nm of torque. The car features four doors and five seats, providing ample space even when fully occupied.

Authorities have previously issued fines based on viral videos showing traffic violations. High-profile individuals have not been exempt from such penalties. Given this precedent, it is anticipated that Akash Ambani will be fined soon.
