RCB Victory Parade Cancelled; Huge Fan Flow Expected - Here Is A List Of Areas You Must Avoid

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) clinched their first Indian Premier League (IPL) title on June 3. They defeated Punjab Kings by six runs in a thrilling final. Virat Kohli led the charge with 43 runs, while Krunal Pandya's exceptional bowling figures of 2/17 earned him the player of the match award.

The team had planned a celebratory parade in an open bus upon their return to Bengaluru. However, the local police denied permission for the RCB Victory Parade event. Instead, RCB will be honoured at Chinnaswamy Stadium from 5 PM to 6 PM IST.

Victory Parade Cancelled

The initial plan was for the RCB victory parade to start at Vidhana Soudha around 3:30 PM IST and conclude at Chinnaswamy Stadium by 5 PM. A grand ceremony was scheduled there. Due to the police's decision, only the felicitation ceremony will take place at RCB's home ground.

Use Public Transport

Access to the stadium is limited to those with tickets or passes. With restricted parking available, attendees are encouraged to use public transport like the Metro. The public has also been advised to avoid Bengaluru's CBD area between 3 PM and 8 PM.

RCB's historic win marks their first IPL trophy in 18 years. The team posted a competitive total of 190 runs, thanks to contributions from all batters. In response, RCB's bowlers delivered crucial wickets, sealing their victory.

Logistical Challenges & Safety Concerns

The change in celebration plans reflects logistical challenges and safety concerns. Despite this, fans can still celebrate RCB's achievement during the evening ceremony at Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Areas To Avoid

Though the RCB Victory Parade has been cancelled, we expect a huge fan flow to the stadium and urge Bengaluru residents to avoid commute to areas near MG Road, Richmond Road, Church Street, and Cubbon Road.

DriveSpark Thinks

While it is disappointing for RCB fans as the parade was cancelled, it must be noted that parade from Vidhana Soudha to Chinnaswamy Stadium could massively affect the traffic flow of the city.
