WRC Driver Martins Sesks To Test J A Motorsport's Hyundai I20 N Line In Coimbatore: Developed For INRC
J A Motorsport is developing a rally-spec Hyundai i20 N Line for the Indian National Rally Championship (INRC) which was showcased at the recent Rally of Hyderabad. This project marks a return to INRC for J A Motorsport.
World Rally Championship star Martins Sesks is set to put a new car to the test in Coimbatore in the near future. The driver played a pivotal role in MRF's triumphs at the European Rally Championship in both 2022 and 2023. Meanwhile, J A Motorsport is keeping details under wraps regarding pricing as they finalize supplier agreements.

While currently only focused on domestic rallying, the company is also considering exporting these cars internationally. The car is designed to meet the new INRC+ regulations set to be introduced next year.
Powertrain
The i20 N Line rally car is powered by a turbocharged 1.0-litre, three-cylinder engine, now enhanced to deliver around 140hp, up from its original 120hp thanks to ECU modifications.

It comes equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission, now featuring a limited-slip differential that offers three ramp angles for better performance on different terrains. The vehicle was recently unveiled at the Rally of Hyderabad, showcasing its capabilities with 15-inch MRF tyres.
Safety Net
Inside, the rally car includes FIA-grade Sparco seats, brackets, steering wheel, and seat belts. It also has a Stilo intercom system for driver-navigator communication. Safety features include a fully welded FIA-grade roll cage, an aluminium sump guard, and composite underbody protection for gravel conditions.

The vehicle's suspension system comprises three-way adjustable double-piston dampers. Additional enhancements include a J A Motorsport performance exhaust and carbon fibre components like door pads and centre console. A hydraulic jacking system is also integrated into the design.
Future Plans
Although Hyundai India isn't involved in this project yet, J A Motorsport aims to explore international markets by exporting these cars for customer teams in global championships.
The i20 N Line rally car adheres to FIA rally rules, requiring minimal changes for participation in European Rally Championship classes like Rally 4 and Rally 5.
J A Motorsport plans to initially focus on the INRC while building cars based on customer demand. Their expertise in motorsport development positions them well for success both domestically and internationally.
