Pune RTO Takes Strict Action Against Dealers Of Unregistered Vehicles
The Pune Regional Transport Office (RTO) plans to revoke the trade certificates of eleven vehicle dealers for selling vehicles without proper registration. The RTO issued a show-cause notice to these dealers, allowing them seven days to respond. Five of these dealers are based in Pune, while the remaining six are from other cities.
Following the Kalyani Nagar Porsche accident, the Pune RTO initiated a campaign that identified eleven unregistered bikes on the roads. Consequently, the RTO will take action against five dealers under the Motor Vehicle Act. However, the exact duration for this process remains uncertain.
Dealers Under Scrutiny
The vendors who received notices include TVS Shelar in Kharadi, Kunal Enterprises in Kondhwa, Satav Automobiles in Hadapsar, Kothari Wheels in Kondhwa, and PR Automotive in Manjri. The RTO has also requested offices in other cities to take similar actions against the concerned vendors.
According to the Motor Vehicle Act, the RTO can suspend a trade certificate for seven, 15, or 21 days. During this suspension period, no vehicle sales can occur. The 'login ID' provided to vehicle sellers at the RTO office will be blocked, preventing them from conducting any sales activities.
