Porsche 918 Spyder Laps Circuit Of The Americas, A POV Video
A car that can deliver a fuel economy of 28 kpl sounds like a very efficient passenger vehicle and a decent hybrid car. But this is not any regular hybrid car, but Porsche's latest and greatest hypercar.
The same car that can deliver 28 kpl in hybrid mode, 9.35 kpl with the petrol engine and can cover 19 km using electric power alone can also reach 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds and 300 km/h in 23 seconds.
This is a hybrid car that beats the Toyota Prius in pure electric mode range, while also being capable of reaching a top speed of 150 km/h and accelerating to 100 km/h in 7 seconds.
This incredible combination of performance and fuel efficiency comes from a hybrid engine that delivers a total power output of 887 horsepower and 1274 Nm of torque!
As much as anyone would love to drive this amazing machine, most of us are not in a position to do so. So Porsche has brought us the next best thing. A driver's point-of-view video of their factory driver Patrick Long taking a lap of the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas in the Porsche 918 Spyder hybrid supercar.
Don't miss our Facebook video of the day. This is definitely one the coolest video of a supercar lapping a racing circuit we have come across.
