This Police BMW M2 AC Schnitzer Is Not Something You Want Chasing You if You Have Illegal Mods

German tuner AC Schnitzer has revealed a Police version of the BMW M2 to bring attention to the 'Tune it! Safe!' initiative in Germany. The 'Tune it! Safe!' campaign draws attention to safe tuning and shows what is possible in tuning while complying with regulations.

This is the eighth car to be produced to promote the 'Tune it! Safe!' initiative run by the German Police and the German Transport Ministry. AC Schnitzer's previous creations for the campaign include tuned versions of the BMW 8 Series and the i8, while other German tuning houses like Techart and Brabus have also created tuned vehicles for the campaign as well.

So just what exactly has AC Schnitzer done to the stock BMW M2 to turn it into this madcap machine for the Polizei? The exterior of the Police BMW M2 sports AC Schnitzer's aerodynamic package which adds a front splitter (which alone generates 60kgs of downforce), grille, side skirts, a roof spoiler, a wing on the boot lid and a reworked rear diffuser system.

Under the bonnet, the AC Schnitzer-tuned Police BMW M2 engine now produces 552bhp and 650Nm of torque, an increase of 99bhp and 100Nm over the M2 stock engine tune. The tuned engine is paired with AC Schnitzer's valved exhaust system which allows for improved gas flow.

The Police BMW M2 has been fitted with AC Schnitzer's RS adjustable suspension setup which lowers the car by 25 to 35 millimetres. The Police BMW M2 by AC Schnitzer rides on the firm's lightweight AC4 wheels - 20 inches at the front and 21 inches at the rear - painted TechGold and fitted with Hankook Ventur S1 evo 3 tyres - 285/30 R20 at the front and 295/25 R21 at the rear.

Finally, the Police BMW M2 by AC Schnitzer has been given a full decal job to make it fit with the other vehicles the German Polizei has in its ranks. The Police BMW M2 also features the obligatory lightbar.
