Ola Launched Its Cab-Sharing Service In Chennai
oi-Abijith Vilangil
Ola announced the launch of Ola Share in Chennai. Now, users who travel towards the same locations can use this service to share their rides with other users.
Ola Share helps in travelling at economical fares, since a single cab ride can now be shared by up to three people. Customers in Chennai will benefit from a flat 50 percent discount on Ola Share fares over the coming month, the company said.
How does the Ola cab sharing work?
Ola Share appears in the app as a separate option. On sharing the drop location, the Ola app matches users from the nearest location, looking for a cab for the same route, at the same time. When an additional user en-route is identified, the driver gets an alert on the navigation device to pick up the next user within minutes. A maximum of 3 people can share a cab together on Ola Share.
