Nurburgring Is Up For Sale, Will Cost $165 Million
The legendary German racetrack, Nürburgring is officially up for sale, and the asking price is $165 million. The latest news comes about an year after the management filed for bankruptcy. The government owned world famous race track will go into the hands of a private owner if the sale goes through. Mr. Jens Lieser has been announced as the state-appointed liquidator to handle the matter.
The number of parties interested in purchasing ‘The ‘Ring' has reportedly dropped from the earlier 50 to about 5 to 10 "serious buyers" and the word "buyer" does not necessarily mean a single person will own the ‘Ring'. It could very well be an organization or a group of organizations as well.

It is not clear still, whether parts of the ‘Ring' will be sold separately or as a single unit. Nürburgring, altogether consists of several valuable pieces including a Formula 1 specification circuit, hotels and even a rollercoaster.
The latest development has raised further concerns among fans of ‘The Ring' world wide, as well as locals, who depend on the racetrack for their livelihood. Many locals living around the Nürburgring area earn by providing service to tourists, including car rental services.
