Nissan Patrol Sets Guinness Record By Pulling 170 Ton Aircraft
The last time we saw we an off roader pull an aircraft was last year. It was a historic moment when Toyota Tundra pickup pulled the Endeavour Space Shuttle. It might have looked impressive, but the weight pulled was just 68,038 kg.
The actual record was set in 2006 by a VW Touareg, which successfully pulled a 155 ton Boeing 747 over a distance of 150 meters. That record was broken by Nissan on August 22, 2013.
Nissan Patrol, an all-wheel drive SUV set a new Guinness World Record for ‘the heaviest object pulled by a production car' by pulling a 170 tonne (1,70,000 kg) Ilyushin Il-76 cargo plane over a distance of 50 meters.

The record was set at the Sharjah International Airport, UAE in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Ghanem Alhajiri, Chairman of Sharjah International Airport.
Nissan Patrol is powered by a 5.6 liter V8 engine, mated to a 7 speed automatic transmission which distributes 400 HP power and 560 Nm torque among four wheels.
