MythBusters, the Discovery channel science show that, well, bursts modern myths, recently worked on a ‘myth' relating to bikes and water. The question asked was, is it possible to ride a bike across a water body? Yes, it has been acheived by four wheelers with extra wide tyres, but a bike is not the same.

Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman took on the challenge in the only way they are known to everytime. By trying it out themselves. The challenge was accepted in this case by Jamie Hyneman.
