Bandra Worli Sea Link Accident – 3 Dead, 6 Injured
The Bandra Worli Sea Link is the pride of Mumbai city and is famous for spotting supercars. Also, thanks to its layout, many people tend to misuse it by unnecessarily risking their and other's lives by speeding.
Now, a recent accident on the Bandra-Worli sea link has grabbed all the attention. The accident is a multi-car collision which resulted in the death of 3 individuals, whereas 6 other people have been seriously injured.
According to reports collected, a Toyota Innova MPV hit a Mercedes-Benz car about 100 meters before the toll booth at the Bandra end of the sea link. However, the Innova driver tried to flee from the incident by speeding ahead.
This speeding Innova rammed into many slower-moving cars near the toll booth, which left a multi-car pile-up, resulting in the death of 3 individuals and injury to 6 other individuals. Looking at the latest reports, 2 of the 6 injured individuals are in critical condition.
Since the Bandra-Worli sea link accident was caused by the Innova driver, the Mumbai police looking forward to filing a case against him. However, details regarding this matter are still very thin.
Also, looking at the images taken from the accident site, we can see that the Innova has sustained major damage to the front section. In fact, the left side A-pillars of the Innova can be seen with severe deformity.
In addition to that, we can see a Honda Mobilio MPV completely wrecked in the accident. Furthermore, this Honda Mobilio seems to have taken damage on both the front and backside, resulting in more extensive damage.
Also, from the accident, we can see that the entire structure of the Honda Mobilio MPV has been compromised. A closer look at the inside of the MPV also reveals what appears to be blood stains as well.
That being said, the frontal airbags in the Honda Mobilio seem to have been deployed, which indicates that the Honda Mobilio users were indeed wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.
Thoughts About Bandra Worli Sea Link Accident
Analysing the initial reports, it seems like the driver of the Innova is fully responsible for this accident. Also, the incident could have been avoided if the Innova driver did not try to flee after hitting the Mercedes-Benz car. Overall, this accident was the result of panic driving.
