Watch: MS Dhoni Spotted Driving His 1973 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am
MS Dhoni, the former Indian cricket team captain is known for his match-finishing capabilities and is considered one of the greatest cricket captains of all time. However, apart from his passion for cricket, he is also very passionate about automobiles.
In fact, MS Dhoni is said to have one of the coolest collections of cars and motorcycles. A recent video of MS Dhoni's private garage also went viral after former Indian cricketer Venkatesh Prasad shared the video clip on Twitter.
Now, MS Dhoni has been spotted driving a 1973 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am muscle car - One of the rare vintage cars in MS Dhoni's car collection. This particular model is finished in Red colour and bears a Maharashtra registration plate.
Speaking about the 1973 Pontiac Firebird, the muscle car was offered in 4 variations - Firebird Firebird Espirit, Firebird Formula, and Firebird Trans Am. Furthermore, the company introduced a dozen more special editions based on the above variants.
Powering the 1973 Pontiac Trans Am muscle car is an all-American 7.5-litre, V8 engine. This engine is said to have produced 290bhp at 4,000rpm and 535Nm of torque at 3,600rpm. This powertrain was offered with either a 4-speed manual or a 3-speed automatic gearbox.
That being said, the 1973 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am is quite a rare car now, as most of the models produced could have perished with time. In fact, only 4,550 units of the 1973 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am muscle cars have been produced.
Out of these 4,550 units of 1973 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am muscle cars, only 1,420 units came with manual transmission. That being said, we are not sure if MS Dhoni's 1973 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am is a manual variant.
