MS Dhoni’s Hummer H2 Receives Army-Inspired Camouflage Wrap
Former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is known for his love of big SUVs. Now one of the most famous ones from his garage, the Hummer H2, wears a striking army-inspired wrap.
The Chennai Super Kings captain's Hummer H2 was recently seen cruising around in Ranchi, in a short clip posted to X(formerly twitter) by user @rushiii_12, with Dhoni himself behind the wheel.
The short clip shared on X shows off the wrap, which has a green camouflage finish and is styled with military motifs. These include images of soldiers, a helicopter, a cargo plane, and parachutes. The base colourway for the wrap is Olive Green.
The design was chosen to honour the Indian Territorial Army's Parachute Regiment, in which Dhoni holds an honorary rank. A custom "MSD" emblem, created in the Hummer H2 font, has also been added.
Dhoni's connection with the armed forces is well-established. He holds the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army's Parachute Regiment. Dhoni has trained with the paratroopers, completed jumps to earn his wings, and once wore the Para Special Forces' Balidaan Badge on his keeping gloves during the 2019 World Cup.
Dhoni bought the Hummer H2 back in 2009. At the time, it was one of the rarest luxury SUVs in India. On one occasion, he drove it to a stadium in Ranchi while the visiting New Zealand team watched in surprise from their team bus.
The H2 was offered with two petrol engine options. A 3.7-litre inline-five produced 242 bhp and 328 Nm of torque. A larger 5.3-litre V8 delivered 300 bhp and 430 Nm. Both engines were paired with a four-speed automatic transmission.
Apart from the Hummer, Dhoni's collection includes several high-performance SUVs. He owns a Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG with a '0007' plate, a bright-green Nissan Jonga, and a Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk powered by a 707bhp Hellcat engine. His garage also features Land Rover Defenders, an Audi Q7, a Land Rover Freelander 2, and multiple Mahindra SUVs.
