Thala Unleashes His Inner Animal - MS Dhoni's Electric Cycle Ad Is Hilariously Over The Top
The 18th edition of the IPL is just around the corner Chennai Super Kings legend and former Indian captain M S Dhoni is showing off his acting chops again, starring in a hilariously over-the-top ad for the EMotorad's electric cycles.
The 2011 World Cup-winning captain is a known motorhead but his latest ad, a collaboration with filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga saw him channel his inner "Animal" as he promotes EMotorad's range of electric bicycles in a hilariously over-the-top ad.
The ad kicks off with an array of black SUVs arriving at a location and Dhoni channelling his inner Ranbir Kapoor from Animal, mullet and all, extricating his first machine of choice as his bodyguards arm themselves with their machine guns before crossing the road in sync and style.
All that ends when Vanga calls an end to the scene and comes to congratulate Thala on the scene. As he blasts a shrill whistle, Dhoni lets him know (as he pulls off his shades) that he can hear him quite easily, to which Vanga quips that his hero is now ready.
The next scene sees Dhoni riding the EMotorad T-Rex Pro with its handlebar-mounted display before coming to a halt in front of what looks like a wedding venue, before pulling the keys and walking in. As before, Vanga cuts the scene once again and walks up to Dhoni, telling him that the scene is superb.
Dhoni now seems a bit concerned as he twirls the hair in his mullet and asks Vanga if all this isn't too much for an ad for an electric bicycle. However, the "Animal" director cuts him off once again and tells him to see just what the next shot is going to be. He then turns around and tells his crew to get the climax shot ready as stunned Dhoni is left a bit lost for words. The final scene sees Dhoni in front of a huge display of EMotorad electric cycles as he slashes the air with his palm in a typical over-the-top Indian movie star way.
This whole buzz between EMotorad and MS Dhoni came about after the former Indian skipper was seen riding an EMotorad Doodle electric cycle, the first of the e-bikes that he was seen riding in the ad. The Emotorad Doodle is a foldable electric cycle that has a range of up to 60km on a single charge and a top speed of 25km/h. Prices for the Doodle lineup start at Rs 49,999 for the Doodle V2, 52,999 for the Doodle V3 and Rs 55,999 for the Doodle Pro.
The other electric bicycle that Dhoni is promoting in the ad is the EMotorad T-Rex Pro. This electric cycle features a display that hangs off the front of the handlebar and another one with all the vital stats that are integrated into it. The EMotorad T-Rex Pro offers a range of up to 70km on a single charge and a top speed of 25km/h.
Thoughts About M.S. Dhoni's Emotorad Ad
Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been known for his humour and his love of motorised vehicles and he channels them both in this hilarious ad campaign for EMotorad's range of electric cycles.
