Former Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni's latest purchase is a Kia EV6. MS Dhoni, who captains the Chennai Super Kings IPL team was recently seen taking his teammates for a drive in his new ride.
Dhoni who is quite well known for his petrolhead ways and has a crazy collection of cars and motorcycles. His latest addition to the collection may be the quietest yet.
While MS Dhoni's new ride may be as silent as the grave it should be able to keep up with most of the other quick vehicles in the former Indian captain's collection. Kia is planning to bring in more units of the EV6 into India due to the crazy demand for the electric car.
MS Dhoni's Kia EV6 is finished in the Moonscape Grey colour option. The Kia EV6 is offered in both single-motor, rear-wheel drive (226bhp, 350Nm) and dual-motor, all-wheel drive (321bhp, 605Nm) guises. Knowing MSD's penchant for power, we wouldn't be surprised if he opted for the all-wheel drive variant which can go from 0-100km/h in 5.2 seconds.
The Kia EV6's electric motors draw power from a 77.4kWh battery pack that delivers a maximum range of 708 kilometres on a single charge as per the ARAI test cycle.
The battery pack on the Kia EV6 supports DC fast charging. At 50kW speeds, the EV6 charges from 10 to 80 per cent in 73 minutes. Connect it up to a faster 350kW charger and the time drops to a measly 18 minutes.
MS Dhoni has quite a collection of modern and classic cars and bikes. The former Indian Cricket Team captain was known to rock up in his Hummer H2 SUV from time and his garage is full of classic muscle cars including the likes of a 60s era Mustang and an old Rolls Royce. Dhoni's garage also has quite a few other special vehicles and he is often seen riding or driving around in them.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni has always been a petrolhead and while hardcore dinosaur burners will hate his latest acquisition, we applaud the former Indian captain for dipping his toes into the world of EVs. Who knows, maybe seeing MS Dhoni in an EV will convince some of his fans to do the same.
