Motocross Rider Jumps Over Biplane At 2014 Cameron Air Show

By Ganesh

Stunt performers constantly try to come up with more entertaining ways to do their jobs. Usually, this involves upping the ante in terms of risks involved.

Take jumping off a ramp to another on a motorcycle for instance. Turning the task of simply doing a long distance jump on a motorcycle more interesting and dangerous is no easy task though.

There is only so far one could jump before gravity takes over. Jumping over cars and trucks. It's been done. Jumping through a ring of fire. Accomplished. So what next? The answer to that question was given at the recently held 2014 Cameron Air Show in Cameron, Missouri, in the U.S.

The air show hosted a unique, possibly never seen before stunt, which combined motorcycle jump with aerial acrobatics. The stunt involves a bike jumping between ramps even as a bi-plane flies in between the ramps, extremely low to the ground.

FMX bike rider Cody Elkins and pilot Skip Stewart had been reportedly working on this stunt for 10 years. One reason it took this long to perform was because show promoters were hesitant to allow it to be performed as they considered it to be too dangerous.

So what's next? Elkins and Stewart hope to improve upon their stunt by performing a back-flip on the bike, while the plane flies upside down.
