Marc Marquez Returns To Red Bull Ring With Eyes On Chequered Flag: MotoGP Round 10
The MotoGP World Championship reaches Round 10 of the calendar as riders Marc Marquez and Joan Mir from the Repsol Honda Team travel to Austria with a positive mindset. Previous races in Austria have been characterized by unexpected weather changes, intense red flags, and thrilling last-minute victories, and it seems that the 2023 edition will be no different.
The track, measuring 4.32km in length, is one of the shortest on the circuit but offers breathtaking scenery and encourages daring overtakes through late braking. Marc Marquez has stood on the podium three times in Austria, securing second place from 2017 to 2019.
In 2023, his aim as an eight-time World Champion is to continue collaborating with HRC for future improvements throughout the year. Since returning from England, Marquez has been diligently working with his team to enhance his physical condition and has been making steady progress.
Joan Mir has achieved significant milestones in his career at Red Bull Ring. He claimed his first Moto3 victory at this Austrian track in 2016 and secured a second-place finish for his premier class debut in 2020.
Drawing upon these past experiences and knowledge of the track, Mir hopes to put an end to his recent streak of misfortunes on Sundays. His goal for this weekend is to avoid any crashes and complete as many laps as possible.
Marc Marquez stated, "During the break between races, I focused on improving my fitness. Each day brings slight progress, so let's see what we can achieve in Austria. The weather there can be unpredictable, so we need consistent teamwork to make the most out of this weekend. We are aware that it will require hard work once again to strive for improvement and pave our way towards a better future."
Joan Mir said, "As we arrive at Red Bull Ring, our aim is to build upon what we accomplished in the previous race. Although Sunday didn't go as planned, we made progress throughout the weekend and regained our comfort on the bike. We need to continue following this path and make the most of our time on the track."
