Police Reveal Speed Of AP Minister's Son's SUV At The Time Of Crash
The police have analysed through a CCTV footage of the accident and studied the distance between the two Metro pillars to estimate the speed of the Mercedes-AMG G63.
Nearly two weeks after the death of Andhra Pradesh minister's son Nishit Narayana and his friend Raja Ravi Varma, Hyderabad traffic police had found that the Mercedes-AMG G63 was travelling at 146km/h when it collided into one of the Metro pillars.
As per reports, the traffic police analysed a CCTV footage of the accident and studied the distance between the two Metro pillars to estimate the speed of the Mercedes-AMG G63.

A senior official of Hyderabad traffic police told Deccan Chronicle, "We found out the speed of the vehicle by calculating the distance between the two pillars and how much time it took to reach from one to another."

He added, "The distance was 75 feet, and it took only 0.56 seconds for the vehicle to cover that distance. From this, we concluded the SUV must have been moving at 146 km/h,"

Both the friends were on their way back home after attending a function when their speeding G63 crashed into a Metro pillar at Road No. 36 in Jubilee Hills.
There are reports which claim that the luxury SUV was earlier issued challans thrice for over-speeding this year - twice at Himayathsagar and once at Nehru Outer Ring Road of Hyderabad. In one of the violations, the car has reportedly clocked 154km/h.

The SUV is designed and developed by Mercedes-Benz's performance division, which develops F1 cars as well, called AMG. The Mercedes-AMG G63 is powered by a 5.5-litre V8 bi-turbo engine which churns out 563bhp and can sprint from 0 to 100km/h in 5.4 seconds with a top speed of 210km/h.
