When discussing prestigious and safe cars, the Mercedes Maybach S600 Guard is a top contender. This bulletproof and bomb-proof car is used by many state heads and prominent politicians. President Droupadi Murmu of India has a unique version of this high-end vehicle. Recently, images of her Mercedes Maybach S600 Guard Pullman were shared online.
These images were posted by Automobili Ardent on Instagram. They show the imposing sedan parked in front of a Delhi building. The car is finished in an Obsidian black shade, enhanced with chrome on the windows and grille.
This luxurious vehicle is equipped with signature Mercedes Maybach monoblock alloy wheels in polished silver. The front number plate features the "0008" registration number and the "lion capital of ashoka." The car's details reflect its exclusivity and importance.
Details of President's Mercedes Maybach Pullman
Droupadi Murmu is the current President of India. Before her, Ramnath Kovind held the position. During Kovind’s tenure, the President's office acquired a new Mercedes Maybach S600 Pullman. This car was supposed to arrive before Republic Day 2021.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the purchase was delayed. The car arrived just before the Independence Day rally on August 15. Initially used by Kovind, it is now used by Murmu. Prior to this, Pranab Mukherjee was chauffeured in a W221 Mercedes Maybach S600 Pullman.
Mercedes Maybach S600 Guard Pullman: Specifications
The W222 Mercedes-Benz S600 Pullman Maybach Guard was unveiled internationally in 2018. It costs over Rs 15 crore and includes advanced safety features. The car offers ERV 2010-level and VR9-level protection.

ERV 2010-level protection means it can withstand up to 15 kg of TNT from a distance of 2 meters. VR9-level protection allows it to resist 7.62x51mm rifle rounds, including bullets from an AK-47.
The car's floor, body, and glass can withstand attacks. Bulletproof steel is embedded between the body structure and outer skin to prevent splinter penetration. The reinforced floor can handle landmine blasts, and the car has run-flat tires.

Engine and Performance
Despite weighing over five tonnes, the S600 Pullman Maybach Guard is quick. It is powered by a 6.0-litre twin-turbo V12 engine, producing 530 bhp and 830 Nm of peak torque.
The engine pairs with a 7-speed automatic gearbox and an all-wheel-drive system for maximum grip and stability. For safety, the car's top speed is limited to 160 km/h.
