Mercedes-Benz Arrow460 Granturismo Luxury Yacht Revealed In Monaco
At the 2013 Monaco Yacht Show that was held between Sep 25 and 28 Mercedes-Benz showcased for the first time, a real life representation of the 'Granturismo of the seas'. For those who do not know what that is, it was a concept rendering of a 14 meter long luxury yacht that was revealed by the automaker in 2012.
By ‘real life' representation we do not mean an actual 14 meter long yacht has been built already. Rather, it was a two meter long model based on the rendering that was on display to give potential buyers a better idea about the design. The yacht has been christened Arrow460 - Granturismo and bookings have been opened.

Arrow460 - Granturismo is the collaborative work of Mercedes-Benz Style and Silver Arrows Marine. The latter is the one who will actually build the yacht.

Mercedes-Benz Style describes the design of Arrow460 as being muscular, while the "stretched hull symbolises the sensual purity of the design". According to the designers, the exterior is "dynamic but not aggressive, sophisticated but not subject to fashion"

Materials used in the construction of the cabin and interior include nubuck leather and eucalyptus wood, resulting in complex colour combinations. The decking, meanwhile, has been made from an advanced synthetic material.

The interior of the yacht has an open boat design, which makes it ideal for use both during the day and night. The yacht can hold 10 passengers and comes with a dining table and a bed, both of which can be slid into position whenever required.

The glazing on the windows are such that they let a varying degree of sunlight pass in depending on the sun's intensity.

Arrow460 Granturismo will be powered by two Yanmar 6LY3-ETP diesel engines developing 480 HP each. The yacht will be able to achieve a top speed of 40+ knots (74 km/h) and will have a cruising speed of 28 to 30 knots.

For those who can afford to buy a yacht, Edition 1, a special limited numbers launch edition of the ARROW460 Granturismo is currently available for booking for a price of 1.25 million euros, with deliveries set to begin from 2015.
