Watch McLaren's 2,000 Hour 720S Lego Build In Just 1 Minute
McLaren built a life-sized 720S using LEGO bricks for the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
The McLaren 720S is the latest supercar McLaren's Super Series lineup of supercars. McLaren decided to build a Lego replica of its latest Super Series supercar for the Goodwood Festival of Speed, which took place last month.
The 1:1 Lego version of the 720S took 2,000 man hours to finish and the British supercar marque ended up using 267,300 bricks to complete the build. The final 13,000 bricks on the Lego 720S were applied at Goodwood and raised money for charity on Lord March's lawns.
The video above shows off the build of the Lego McLaren which thanks to the wonders of time-lapse photography have been compressed from 2,000 hours to under a minute.
DriveSpark Thinks!
While the Lego replica of the McLaren 720S is a mighty fine piece of engineering, it is no match for the real car itself thanks to the fact it weighs over 130 kilos more than the regular car and doesn't even have an engine. The 1:1 replica isn't the cheapest way to own a 720S at just around $26,730 (Rs 17.02 lakh) either as Lego does sell a 720S Lego Speed Champions kit for $14.99 (Rs 955).
