Mahindra Gifts Thar SUV To Nikhat Zareen For Winning World Boxing Championship
Mahindra & Mahindra has gifted a brand new Mahindra Thar SUV to Nikhat Zareen for winning the 2023 IBA Women's World Boxing Championship. Zareen participated in the flyweight category and defeated the Vietnamese boxer Nguyễn Thị Tâm to clinch Gold in the category.
Nikhat Zareen is also the second Indian female boxer to have more than one gold medal at the world level after MC Mary Kom. This makes Nikhat Zareen one of the greatest women boxers from India to this date.

"India's greatest boxing champion deserves no less than India's greatest off-roader. Honoured to felicitate Nikhat Zareen with the All-New Thar for winning Gold at World Women's Boxing Championship 2023" tweeted Mahindra.
This new Mahindra Thar SUV was gifted to Nikhat Zareen on August 9 at a Mahindra dealership in Hyderabad. This particular model was finished in Napoli Black, but the details regarding the variant is yet to be confirmed.

Speaking about the Mahindra Thar, the off-road focussed SUV is offered with three engine options in India. The most affordable variant features a 1.5-litre, turbocharged diesel engine with 117bhp and 300Nm of torque.
To keep the prices aggressive, the Thar SUV with this powertrain comes exclusively in RWD layout and sports a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard. However, this model looks identical to the 4WD variants.

On the other hand, the 2.2-litre, turbocharged diesel engine in the Thar 4WD variants produces a healthy 130bhp and 300Nm of torque. Customers can also choose between a 6-speed automatic transmission and a 6-speed manual transmission with this powertrain.
The Mahindra Thar SUV can also be specified with a more powerful 2.0-litre, turbocharged petrol engine. This engine produces 150bhp and 300Nm of torque. Gearbox options include a 6-speed automatic transmission and a 6-speed manual transmission.
