Mahindra Launches Mileage Guarantee For BS6 OBD II Commercial Trucks

Mahindra's Truck and Bus Division (MTBD), part of the Mahindra Group, has introduced a unique customer value proposition for their BS6 OBD II range of trucks. This initiative, titled 'Get More Mileage or Give the Truck Back,' aims to tackle rising fuel costs and changing regulatory standards.

The new truck range features the 7.2L mPower Engine for heavy commercial vehicles (HCVs) and the mDi Tech Engine for intermediate and light commercial vehicles (ILCV). These engines incorporate FuelSmart Technology, Mild EGR, and an advanced After Treatment System to reduce Ad Blue consumption. Additionally, the iMAXX Telematics solution is included to ensure higher mileage.

Enhanced Fluid Efficiency

Mahindra conducted extensive fluid efficiency tests across 21 product categories, including 71 models from competitors. These tests covered over 1 lakh kilometres under various load and road conditions. An independent agency supervised and validated these tests, confirming Mahindra's commitment to exceptional mileage performance.

Mr. Vinod Sahay, President of Trucks, Buses, CE, Aerospace & Defence Businesses at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., commented on this initiative. Technological Advancements

Mahindra Trucks also feature iMAXX telematics technology for real-time fleet monitoring and optimization. The Driver Information System provides real-time data on vehicle performance and driver behaviour, ensuring safe and efficient operations. This system helps customers make informed decisions to maximize profitability.

Mr. Jalaj Gupta, Business Head – Commercial Vehicles at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., highlighted the technological advancements in their vehicles. He stated, "Our vehicles' superior technological prowess has resulted in higher fluid efficiency." He added that this mileage guarantee program would help increase transporters' profitability amid rising fuel costs.

Comprehensive Support Network

MTBD offers various schemes to ensure peace of mind for customers. These include a 36-hour guaranteed turnaround at workshops, casualty coverage for drivers under the mAahshray program worth INR five lakhs, and 24/7 multilingual support for truck drivers in emergencies.

The service network is extensive, with over 400 touchpoints, including 80 3S dealerships and more than 2900 roadside assistance service points. Additionally, there are over 1600 retail outlets on key trucking routes across India.
