Maharashtra Government Allocates 827 Acres To Toyota Kirloskar For New Electric Vehicle Production Facility
The Maharashtra government has allocated 827 acres of land to Toyota Kirloskar Motor for a new car production facility. This site, located in Chhatrapathi Sambhaji Nagar, will focus on manufacturing electric and hybrid vehicles. An agreement between the state government and Toyota was signed on July 31st. The company plans to invest Rs. 21,000 crore in this project.
Production at the new plant is set to commence in January 2026. This facility aims to cater to both domestic and international markets. The plant is expected to create direct employment for 8,000 individuals and indirect employment for another 18,000. This development could help alleviate some of the unemployment issues currently faced in India.
