Lions Stop Traffic On Nairobi Highway

Traffic police in Nairobi Kenya had surprising replacements last month. Two young male lions brought traffic on a busy highway in Nairobi, Kenya to a stand still after they decided to rest bang in the middle of the road.

The two lions were least perturbed by the oncoming traffic and the road users were, although surprised, did not panic and allowed the lions some play time on the road. The lions stayed on the highway, which is next to the Nairobi National Park, for about ten minutes. Thanks to Gareth Jones from Barcoft Media who clicked these interesting images.

This was a surprising African Safari for people using the highway that morning. Many of them took out their mobile phones and started clicking pictures of the lions on the highway. The lions decided to get back to their natural habitat after some time and traffic resumed.
