Video: Land Rover Discovery Sport Pulls A 100-Ton Train
oi-Dennis James
The Land Rover Discovery Sport is a vehicle which can go anywhere, on-road and off-road.
To demonstrate its rather impressive pulling power, Land Rover decided to re-create a stunt it pulled off 27 years back with the original Land Rover, pulling a train.
The Discovery Sport with a 2.0-litre diesel engine, pulled a 108-ton train across 10km of railway track at the Museumsbahn Stein am Rhein in Switzerland, crossing the River Rhine on the dramatic Hemishofen bridge which is 285 metres long and soars 26 metres above the the surrounding valley.
The only modifications done to the Discovery Sport were the addition of four small railway wheels to help it running on the rails.
