Mumbai Police Seize Lamborghini Urus After Viral Video Saw It Do 252km/h On Sea Link Bridge
A yellow Lamborghini Urus has been seized by the Worli Police in Mumbai after it was caught on video being driven at around 250 km/h on the Bandra-Worli Sea Link, where the speed limit is restricted to 80 km/h. The viral clip prompted immediate action from law enforcement, who took the luxury SUV into custody and registered a case against the driver.
The video, widely circulated on social media platforms, shows the Lamborghini overtaking multiple vehicles at extremely high speed on the wrong side along the elevated sea link - a stretch frequented by daily commuters and heavy traffic. The footage quickly drew public attention and condemnation for the apparent reckless driving in a densely populated urban area.
According to multiple reports, the SUV carries the Haryana registration number HR 70 F 1945. The driver was identified as 36-year-old Faiz Adanwala, a resident of Khar West, Mumbai. The Urus is owned by Super Well Comtrade Private Limited, and its registered proprietor is reportedly Nirav Patel, a resident of Ahmedabad. Law enforcement has stated that the vehicle was entrusted to Adanwala, who is involved in automobile sales.
A case has been filed at Worli Police Station under relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act related to negligent and dangerous driving, and further legal action is underway. Police officials indicated that a detailed investigation into the incident, including possible charges and penalties, will follow.

The Bandra-Worli Sea Link is one of Mumbai's busiest roadways, with strict speed limits imposed to ensure safety. Incidents of extreme over-speeding, such as this, highlight ongoing concerns about high-performance vehicles being misused on public roads, potentially endangering other motorists and pedestrians.
Legal Sections Invoked And Possible Penalties
Police have registered the case under the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, primarily relating to dangerous driving and negligent conduct endangering public safety. Overspeeding on a public road, especially in excess of prescribed limits on critical infrastructure such as the Bandra-Worli Sea Link, is treated as a serious offence.
Under Section 184 (Dangerous Driving) of the Motor Vehicles Act, the offence can attract a fine of up to ₹5,000, imprisonment of up to six months, or both. Repeat offences may lead to higher fines and longer imprisonment terms.
Additionally, authorities may invoke Section 183 (Overspeeding), which carries monetary penalties depending on the extent of speed violation. Police also have the power to suspend or cancel the driving licence of the accused and impound the vehicle, which they have done in this case, as it involved extreme speed and a risk to the public.
