Lamborghini Gallardo Spits Out Fireball While Going Over 300km/h
It is not uncommon for supercars to spit fire from their exhaust owing to their high revving, high capacity engines that operate at extreme conditions. A stock car is civilised enough not to lose its composure and things rarely go out of control.
However, when the same car is modified and pushed way beyond its intended limit things tend to get out of control. As seen here in the case of the Lamborghini Gallardo built by Underground Racing.
This particular car produces an insane amount of power. Over 1800 horsepower from its twin turbocharged engine.
During a Texas Invitational (TI) airfield exhibition, going head-to-head against another Gallardo, our Orange monster Lamborghini accelerates from 100 km/h to about 333 km/h in an incredible half a kilometre, which according to the video description, would have been a TI world record.
Unfortunately, flames bursting out from the engine engulf the car right before it hits 343 km/h. The only thing that saves it is the integrated fire suppression system.
This incredibly dramatic footage is our Facebook video of the day.
