Watch Koenigsegg Destroy The $1.9 Million Regera Through Savage Crash Tests
Watch Koenigsegg crash tests the Regera supercar.
Koenigsegg, the Swedish company, known to produce some of the most desirable hypercars wanted to celebrate 1 million followers of its Instagram account. So, how does it celebrate? Koenigsegg put the $1.9 million (approx. Rs 12 crore) through brutal crash tests.

However, Koenigsegg wanted to showcase the durability of the Regera. In the video, the Regera undergoes multiple brutal crash tests, revealing the strength of its carbon-fibre bodywork and when it was hit several times with a hammer, the supercar came out pretty much safe.
Koenigsegg revealed the production version of the Regera at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. The supercar is powered by a 5-litre V8 twin-turbo engine packing close to 1500bhp assisted by three electric motors. All this power helps the Regera sprint to 100km/h in just 2.8 seconds as claimed by Koenigsegg.

The carbon-fibre body helps keep the weight down. Also, the Regera is equipped with a "Direct Drive" system that replaces a traditional gearbox. It has a clutch-slip mechanism that employs a hydraulic-coupling to convert torque at medium to high speeds during acceleration, enabling the unit to gain revs and power.
