Koenigsegg CCX Hits 339 km/h At VMax200 In The U.K
Supercar owners may enjoy all the attention they get driving around cities, but they cannot enjoy driving their cars around busy streets. To do this, supercar owners have exclusive clubs. Clubs such as the UK's VMax200 for instance.
VMax200 holds regular events for members in the UK during which sports car owners can let their proverbial hair down and enjoy the full potential of their machines, while simultaneously partaking in some friendly competition with fellow supercar owners.
Drivers try to reach top speeds on a 2 mile (3.21 km) track or runway, with speed traps recording the numbers of each and every run. You can go solo or go head-to-head and take as many tries as you want. It's all about having fun.
EVO Magazine recently attended one such VMax200 event held at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground. While they themselves gave it a try in a green Lamborghini Aventador, they were surpassed by over half a dozen other cars.
The top speed during this particular event was set by a white Koenigsegg CCX that was able to constantly beat other cars and completed its final run at 211 mph or 339 km/h.
The highest ever speed achieved at a VMax200 event is 357 km/h, by a 9ff modified Porsche 911 Turbo. In fact, 9 of the highest top speed runs have been set by modified Porsche 911 Turbos.
