Ebay Built Formula 1 Race Car
Kevin's dream ignited after he visited a Renault showroom where he witnessed a F1 car in flesh. A few months down the line he got the ball rolling when he purchased a Reynard BAR01 and BAR003 from an ebay seller. But was that enough?
Kevin Thomas is no engineer, however his passion did not stop him from creating his own Formula 1 race car. After getting his hands on the Reynard BAR01 and BAR003 he set out to source more parts from ebay.
Kevin quickly realized lack of technical knowledge and parts made his dream even more herculean. However, his passion kept him astir and made use of whatever he got and custom built a few parts on his own.
The entire project so far has costed Kevin $13,000. For the moment the race car looks complete, but Kevin has stated that he is on the lookout for an engine on ebay. We are quite sure that getting hold of an F1 engine on ebay will be quite a task. On that note, Kevin thinks that he'll be able to pick up something else. "I'll probably go for a Formula Renault 3.5-liter engine," said Thomas. "That will be plenty fast enough to scare the living daylights out of me," he added.
