Ten Million Tyres On The Road — New Achievement From JK Tyres
Indian tyre manufacturer JK Tyres becomes the first Indian firm to roll out ten million truck and bus radial tyres.
On Monday, the ten millionth tyre was rolled out from its Vikrant factory in Mysore. This Mysore plant was acquired by JK Tyres in 1990's with an investment of Rs. 1,200 crores, to bring modern facilities and expand operation.
JK Tyres is one of the largest supplier of truck and bus radial tyres. JK Tyre CMD, Raghupati Singhania, in his press statement said, "Starting in 1977, when we set up our first tyre plant in Rajasthan with 5 lakh per annum capacity, we have come a long way and today JK Tyre has grown multifold."
JK Tyre has also entered the two and three wheeler tyre segment by acquiring the tyre unit from Kesoram Industries for Rs. 2,200 crore.
