Jailer Movie Producer Gifts Two BMW Cars To Rajinikanth – Superstar Chooses BMW X7 Over The Other
Jailer, the Indian Tamil-language movie has been doing exceptionally well at the box office and has broken a few records in the process. Following the success of the Jailer movie, the producer of the movie, Kalanithi Maran, gifted Rajinikanth a brand new BMW X7 SUV.
That being said, Kalanithi Maran actually purchased two BMW cars - A BMW X7 SUV, and the all-electric BMW i7. He then asked the Superstar Rajinikanth to choose between the BMW X7 and the BMW i7, for which the Superstar chose the BMW X7 SUV.
Also, the video of Rajinikanth checking both BMW models was shared on Twitter. Analysing the video, it seems Superstar liked both the BMW X7 and the BMW i7. However, Superstar seems to have preferred the BMW X7 mainly due to the taller seating position resulting in easier ingress and egress.
Speaking about the BMW X7, the flagship SUV of the BMW range was launched in India back in January. At the time of the launch, the BMW X7 range started at Rs 1.22 Crore (ex-showroom).
It is also worth mentioning that the new BMW X7 SUV is locally produced at the automaker's facility in Chennai. Furthermore, the deliveries of the model commenced in March 2023.
In terms of powertrain, the new BMW X7 SUV comes with two engine options. The 3.0-litre, turbocharged, in-line 6, petrol engine puts out 380bhp and 520Nm of torque. On the other hand, the 3.0-litre, turbocharged, in-line 6, diesel engine puts out 340bhp and 700Nm of torque.
It is also worth mentioning that both engine options come with an 8-speed automatic transmission and a 48V electric motor that is capable of dishing out 12bhp and 200Nm of torque.
Noticeable features in the new X7 SUV include a large Sky Lounge Panoramic glass sunroof, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon surround sound system, BMW Curved Display with real-time traffic information and augmented view, a 12.3-inch digital information display, a larger 14.9-inch Control Display and a colour Head-up Display.
Thoughts: With Superstar Rajinikanth now using the BMW X7 SUV, we could expect more potential buyers in the state of Tamil Nadu to start preferring the model. That being said, the BMW X7 is a luxurious and powerful SUV, which will very well suit the requirements of a tier 1 movie actor.
