IPL Final: Jay Shah Visits Royal Challengers Bangalore Hotel In His BMW X5 SUV
With the IPL final just hours away, Jay Shah, ICC Chairman and former BCCI Secretary, visited the hotel where Royal Challengers Bangalore players are staying. He arrived in Ahmedabad around noon to extend his best wishes to the RCB team. Jay Shah visited the hotel in his BMW X5 SUV. Though we can confirm it is a BMW X5 SUV, we are not sure which powertrain configuration or trim Mr Shah has chosen.
BMW X5 Facelift
BMW India introduced the 2023 BMW X5 facelift in xLine and M Sport trims. Available with petrol and diesel engines, prices range from Rs 93.90 lakh to Rs 1.06 crore (ex-showroom) at the time of launch. The SUV features updated exteriors with slimmer headlamps, 'Iconic Glow' grille illumination, redesigned bumpers, and new taillamps.
The X5's interior boasts a BMW Widescreen Curved Display combining a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster with a 14.9-inch infotainment screen. An ambient light bar below the infotainment display adds a touch of luxury reminiscent of the BMW 7 Series.
The 2023 BMW X5 includes a mild-hybrid system enhancing both petrol and diesel engines with an additional 11bhp and 200Nm torque. The petrol variant features a 3.0-litre inline-six engine producing 381bhp and 520Nm torque, accelerating from 0-100kmph in just 5.4 seconds.
The diesel variant offers a 3.0-litre inline-six engine delivering 286bhp and 650Nm torque, achieving acceleration from 0-100kmph in 6.1 seconds. Both variants come with BMW's xDrive all-wheel drive technology for optimal traction on various surfaces. Competitors include Mercedes GLE, Audi Q7, and Volvo XC90.
IPL Final Showdown
The IPL title clash between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Punjab Kings is set for 7:30 PM at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium. Both teams aim for their first title, with Rajat Patidar leading Bangalore and Shreyas Iyer captaining Punjab. This marks their fourth encounter this season; Punjab won their first league match, while RCB claimed victory in the second league match and first qualifier.
Weather forecasts suggest rain might affect the final, prompting teams to choose bowling if they win the toss. The winner will become the eighth team to clinch an IPL title.
