Michigan-based Inteva Products LLC, a supplier of components and systems, has announced that the company will be setting up its 'India Technical Centre', in Bengaluru.
According to Lon Offenbacher, Inteva President, CEO and Founder, the company's Centre of Expertise will house the teams supporting advanced engineering, durability testing, design and development, and functional testing.
Offenbacher added that the idea behind the new Technical Centre is to expand the company's technical capabilities in southern India.
The teams, he explained, will focus on developing advanced technologies in roofing systems, motors, and electronics for the company's global customers.
The Bengaluru centre will house 200 research and development engineers while the company already has plans for growth regarding headcount as well as its capabilities in the future.
Currently, Inteva's turnover in India is $25-30 million a year and is expected to increase to 100 million. Currently, Inteva's global turnover is $2.8 billion.
Offenbacher also added that the company's previous investments had seen Inteva successfully announce several projects such as side door latches, window lift mechanisms, and motors. In India, Inteva is the tier I supplier for customers such as Ford, Tata, Mahindra and VW.
