India's First-Ever Rolls-Royce Spectre Hits The Streets Of Chennai
British luxury carmaker Roll-Royce revealed its first-ever electric vehicle in the form of the Spectre last month. And it hasn't taken long for the all-electric Rolls-Royce Spectre to make its way into India.
The first-ever Rolls-Royce Spectre in India was delivered to its owner a few days ago. The Spectre has a base price of Rs 7.5 crore (ex-showroom) and the nation's first-ever Rolls-Royce EV is said to cost around Rs 9 crore.
The nation's first Spectre EV was seen driving around the streets of Chennai on what appeared to be Rolls-Royce display plates. Built on the Rolls-Royce 'Architecture of Luxury' platform, the all-electric Spectre shares quite a few design cues with the firm's flagship Phantom.
The first Rolls-Royce Spectre to hit the Indian streets is finished in a striking Wittering Blue shade, complemented by a Mandarin Coachline. Inside, a two-tone setup of Charles Blue is accentuated by Mandarin accents on the seat piping and monogrammed headrests.
The Spectre's starlight liner, traditionally exclusive to the roof, now extends to the door pads, featuring an astonishing 4,796 illuminated stars. Customers also have the option to personalise their vehicle further with handcrafted wood panelling.
The Spectre sports two separately synchronised motors (SSMs) that power the front and rear axles. The front motor generates 255bhp and 365Nm of torque, while the rear motor delivers 483bhp and 710Nm of torque. The combined output stands at a staggering 584bhp and 900Nm of torque, enabling the car to accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 4.4 seconds.
Providing power to the Rolls-Royce Spectre is a large 102kWh lithium-ion battery, produced using 100 per cent green electricity. A quick 34-minute charge using a 195 kW DC fast charger can replenish the battery from 10-80 per cent. The Spectre's fast charging capabilities allow for 100km of range in a roughly nine-minute top-up. On a full charge, the Spectre promises a WLTP range of 530 km.
