Indian Railways To Introduces Non-AC Vande Sadharan Express - Budget Friendly Semi High Speed Train
Vande Bharat was really a game changer in the Indian transportation sector. The semi high-speed train has become a huge success, as it significantly reduces the time taken for travelling long distances.
However, Vande Bharat was heavily criticised for its expensive ticket fare, which was quite out of the budget for the common people. Indian Railways defended this by highlighting the amenities provided on the train with the purchase of the ticket.
So finally, in order to address the concerns of the common people, Indian Railways has unveiled their plans to introduce a non-AC Vande Sadharan train with sleeper and general coaches for long-distance travel.
The main objective of this new initiative is to provide affordable but comfortable travel solutions for passengers who are opting for long distance travelling. The train is expected to come with the same engine specs that is used by the Vande Bharat.
The non-AC Vande Sadharan will be manufactured at ICF Chennai, and it'll cost the government Rs 65 crore. The first train is expected to be launched by the end of this year. On the other hand, the Vande Bharat, manufactured at the same facility will cost around Rs 100 crore.
The Vande Sadharan train will have a total of 24 LHB coaches and two locomotives at both the front and rear ends, similar to Vande Bharat. This will ensure efficient acceleration through the push-pull method, which will allow the train to move faster.
The train will be equipped with amenities such as, bio-vacuum toilets, a passenger information system, and charging points at every seat. To ensure passenger security, CCTV cameras will be added in every coach. The train will also have an automatic door system, similar to the Vande Bharat Express.
Thoughts On The New Vande Sadharan Express
The Vande Sadharan Express is the Indian Railways answer to its critics, who criticised the Railways for higher fares on Vande Bharat. More details are yet to come and let's hope that the people will welcome this new initiative like they did for Vande Bharat.
