This trial tested the system's response in scenarios where the train operator fails to act on signals. The tests utilized a semi-high-speed VAP-5 engine, integral to the operations of prestigious services like the Shatabdi and Gatimaan Express, both of which are already outfitted with the Kavach system.
The test run spearheaded by the North Central Railway traversed the tracks from Palwal in Haryana to Mathura in Uttar Pradesh.
