Drag Racing In Bangalore: Round 2 Of India Speed Week 2017 Concludes
Here are results and details of Round 2 of India Speed Week 2017 where Cars and bikes of all engine sizes revved their guts off down the quarter mile drag fest.
Cars and bikes of all engine sizes revving their guts off down the quarter mile, while an electric atmosphere prevailed even off the track with DJs and bands playing good music and the various food and exhibitor stalls bustled with activity. This was the ambience at Round 2 of India Speed Week 2017.

Held in Bangalore, at the Jakkur Aerodrome between December 8-10, the drag race event was indeed a success with a few hundred entries across various classes. India Speed Week is the nation's premiere drag racing event and the Bangalore event was Round 2 in 2017.

India Speed Week is organised with the aim of promoting drag racing talent, in a safe and controlled environment. Vehicles were registered at the event were categorised and allowed to run down the quarter mile (402.336 metres) based on engine capacity and extent of modifications.

The Bangalore round was organised by Elite Octane and with support from Vroom, a Bangalore-based motorsport organisation for location and permissions. The state-of- the-art timing system and results for each class were monitored by Elite Octane which re-ignited the drag-racing craze in India by organising the Valley Run series.

Scrutiny and safety checks of the vehicles as well as the track and venue were done by marshals from FMSCI (Federation Of Motorsports Corporation of India). Bollywood stars Raveena Tandon and Suniel Shetty made an appearance on December 9 and 10 respectively, and both addressed the gathering of adrenaline junkies.

Fastest Foreign Car - Mandava Choudary - Audi RS 7 - 12.417 seconds
Fastest Driver (Female) - Sindhuri Pradeep - Volkswagen Polo GTi - 15.152 seconds
